Publication: CARS microscopy through a multimode fiber endoscope
Current oncological diagnosis consists of performing a biopsy, followed by time-consuming histopathology, and often repeated surgery. Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) imaging through a multimode fiber endoscope could provide a route to instead perform a minimally invasive, in situ diagnosis. In this publication, we have demonstrated that it is possible to perform CARS microscopy through a 125 um diameter multimode fiber. Despite the small probe size, the backscattered CARS signal can be detected in epi-detection. This is also opens up for implementing other coherent methods e.g. THG.
