New advanced technologies for the development and production of proportional detectors

The aim of the present project is the development and design of new neutron proportional detectors using modern technologies and software tools. Two types of detectors will be developed, a pressure detector with constant pressure and a flow detector with adjustable gas pressure in the detector. The development will focus on the use of electron and laser welding and machining techniques, vacuum brazing and others that will allow us to realize detectors of the required quality. The entire detector design will be based on thorough numerical simulations of shape, gas pressures, vacuum leaks and other necessary parameters. Due to their design, the developed proportional detectors will be indispensable for neutron detection and spectrometry in the energy range 20 keV ÷ 1 MeV.
