Our facility specializes in highly experimental magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy in small laboratory animals for biomedical research, which is reflected by the equipment. The key items are the small-animal high-field MR scanner with a bore diameter and transmit and receive coils allowing measurement of mice, rats, or rabbits, and the certified animal facility, which includes the whole laboratory building. Additional equipment supports animal model preparation, animal welfare compliant with the 3R rules, physiologic monitoring and anesthesia during the measurement, blood-brain barrier opening by MR-compatible focused ultrasound, and computation infrastructure.
