• Use of servers and/or specialized software (MASO, PerfLab, jMRUI, etc.)

Recommended version (to be modified according to the concrete situation):

„We acknowledge the ISI-MR core facility supported by the Czech-BioImaging large research infrastructure project (LM2023050 funded by MEYS CR) [, part of the Euro-BioImaging (www.eurobioimaging.eu) ALM and Medical Imaging Node (Brno, CZ), ] for (providing the scientific data | implementing the experiments and obtaining the scientific data | providing expert advice that led us to the results | analyzing the scientific data) presented in this paper.“

Data ownership and co-authorship

In general, data are treated as intangible asset that is not intellectual property, hence only the Civil Code and the Data transfer license are applicable. As a rule, the ownership of the data is assigned to the user (not the default offered by the Civil Code), but the license will specify in detail the rights and duties of both parties with respect to the data.

In the event that creative and/or substantial contribution to the publication has been produced by the ISI-MR staff, co-authorship should be discussed between Head of ISI-MR and the PI of the project at the beginning of the measurement/service or as soon as such a situation is realized. Both parties are obliged to protect any background IP, any newly created IP the newly created intellectual property is subject to the Author Act of the Czech Republic and the applicable by-laws of the parties; a specific contract has to be signed by both parties, a template is available.

Acknowledgment applied to specific cases:

• If the user pays the "full-cost" price for all services provided by the laboratory and does not use any support from the Czech-BioImaging project, or

• if the grant provider does not recognize the distinction between infrastructure projects and scientific projects and requests an exclusive acknowledgment of the project code (e.g., AZV) for the publication,

the acceptable formulation is
„The ISI-MR core facility of the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS is gratefully acknowledged for providing the scientific data presented in this paper.”
